Six insurance carriers were honored with Asia Insurance Technology Awards at the third annual ceremony, hosted by Celent and Asia Insurance Review.

The Asia Insurance Technology Awards (AITAs) recognize excellence and innovation in the use of technology within the insurance industry in the Asia-Pacific region. The 2013 winners were chosen from a highly competitive field consisting of 22 nominations from insurers in India, Japan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The awards were given out during the 2nd Asia Insurance CIO Summit on November 20 in Singapore.

The winners are:

  • Best Mobile Application: MetLife Global Technology & Operations Asia, Sony Life Insurance
  • E-Commerce: Now Health International
  • Best Insurer: Technology: HDFC Standard Life Insurance
  • Best Newcomer: Liberty Videocon General Insurance
  • IT Leadership: Mr. Namal Gunawardhane, Head of IT, HNB Assurance

“This year’s awards sought to recognize the most innovative insurance technology available in the Asia-Pacific region,” says Wenli Yuan, Senior Analyst with Celent’s Asian Financial Services Group. “Each of the winners exemplifies best practices in their respective categories.”
