Celent Announces New Senior Analyst Marty Ellingsworth
Ellingsworth to Focus on NextGen Analytics and Artificial Intelligence
NEW YORK – November 20, 2019 – Celent, a division of Oliver Wyman, is pleased to announce that Marty Ellingsworth will be joining the Insurance practice as a Senior Analyst based in the San Francisco office.
His research will center on data and analytics with a focus on artificial intelligence. As part of his research, he will look at the application of industrial-scale mathematical approaches to critical risk assessment, risk selection, pricing, marketing, sales, claims, and service opportunities.

Marty came to Celent from USAA where he led Exploratory Research.He also spent some time as the in-house Risk and Insurance advisor in the Global Consulting Practice at Experian. Prior to this, he founded Salt Creek Analytics where he created a new way for consumers to track and report vehicle miles used for complying with mileage-based insurance programs.His more than 20-year tenure in insurance includes service as president of Insurance Services Office (ISO, now Verisk) Innovative Analytics, where he led the creation of a modernized risk assessment product, Risk Analyzer, which refreshed personal and commercial lines advisory lost cost estimates across a range of lines of insurance. While at Verisk, he also helped to create new products for fraud detection, claims valuation, property assessment, marketing segmentation, and workers compensation audit as well as innovations in other financial, healthcare, and banking lines of business.
Prior to Verisk, his patented technology for applying text analytics to insurance processes at Full Capture Solutions broke new ground on how unstructured data could be leveraged for predictive analytics. He also served as head of enterprise analytics at Fireman’s Fund (a unit of Allianz) for five years, and was a key consultant on claims data collection and analytics with the multi-carrier data efforts at the Workers Compensation Research Institute. His early career involved a range of leadership roles with the US Air Force.
