Don’t End Up as Bones at the Side of the Trail
Ever watch those American cowboy movies where the Conestoga wagons are bumping along the trail? Occasionally, to either side of the ruts, you see the bones of previous hopefuls whose luck had run out scattered on the ground. The hopes of the riders are framed by the tragedies of the unlucky, who were unprepared for unanticipated circumstances and unexpected events.
These scenes remind me of where Insurtech is now. Since 2015, numerous intrepid pioneers have journeyed off into new territories. The last years are littered with the skeletons of POCs which went nowhere, promising pilots without futures, partnerships which never stuck.
