Abstract

Outside of its voracious appetite for AI start-ups (over 30 acquired in 2023), Apple, in typical fashion, has had its generative AI (GenAI) initiatives in stealth mode until now. Its big reveal June 10 was highly polished and exploded with take-ways and implications. Apple’s market value jumped from $2.95 trillion (5/31) to $3.27 trillion (6/26).

Bankers have learned from the launch of the iPhone and then Apple Pay (2014) that it is worthwhile keeping a sharp eye on what Apple is doing to change consumer behavior and raise the bar on customer experience. Hence, it is not too early for bankers to be thinking about the implications of Apple Intelligence.
