Celent Asia Webinar: Cloud Computing Strategies and Trends in the Chinese Banking Industry
By 2012 China already had 1,433 established rural banks, with plans (announced by the chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission) for 3,000 more to be built. Not only are there a large number of non-financial institutions starting to establish rural banks, there are also a number of Chinese banks and foreign banks starting to launch their own rural banks. The propagation of rural banks has brought new life to the extended application of SaaS.
- Shandong City Commercial Banks Alliance signed a contract with IBM to develop and implement a “single system, multi-bank” comprehensive business system for its member banks. The Shandong City Commercial Banks Alliance provides services such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
- Aliyun and Alipay are now making preparations to jointly export cloud computing service abilities to local Chinese regional banks.
- China UnionPay Data provides card processing services based on a pure SaaS model. China UnionPay Data can help banks shorten the development time for their card systems, taking approximately only 3-6 months to complete the development of a card system. In the future, China UnionPay Data plans to develop even more SaaS services, including services such as fraud detection, risk management, hosting and call centers, etc.
Join Celent analyst Hua Zhang as he examines the uptick in establishment of rural banks and the extended application of SaaS in China. This webinar is based on the report Cloud Computing Strategies in the Chinese Banking Industry: Opportunities for Innovation.
