Abstract

Most financial institutions are under considerable pressure to reduce costs and improve sales and service effectiveness across all distribution channels. However, even as the industry is becoming increasingly multichannel, the branch network remains a key delivery channel, albeit one in need of transformation.

Bob Meara, senior analyst with Celent’s Banking Group, examines branch channel priorities among North American financial institutions and common characteristics of financial institutions that have comparatively advanced branch networks. This webinar provides an analysis of the current state of branch channel technology and physical environments. The presentation takes a predictive look at the midterm branch technology environment based on surveyed technology direction and adoption intent. Lastly, the webinar forecasts the likely evolution of North American branch banking over the next five years.

This presentation draws on findings from the Celent reports Branch Banking in a Multichannel World Part I: What Ever Happened to the "Branch of the Future"', Branch Banking in a Multichannel World: Part II: The Many Faces of Change, and Top Technology Trends in Retail Banking for 2010.
