Dale Richards joins Board of Directors and Steve Cowler named CTO
Datactics Ltd, a leading provider of data quality and matching software to the capital markets, healthcare, government, and supply-chain industries, announces the appointment of Dale Richards to its Board of Directors and Steve Cowler as Chief Technology Officer. Both appointments further strengthen the company’s leadership team and reinforce its capabilities as the primary data quality provider, especially to the global capital markets.
Dale Richards, an original founding member of the EDM Council, joins Datactics’ Board with an exemplary 25 year record of success in the data industry. Dale currently heads Island 20 Ventures, a management advisory firm. His previous positions include CEO of Benton Associates, CEO of FAME Information Services, President of Enterprise Data Management at SunGard and President of US Operations at First Derivatives. Additionally, Dale has held senior positions with Algorithmics, Reuters and Interactive Data and was awarded an Honours BA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.
“I’ve known about Datactics for a number of years and three things have compelled me to join its ranks; the calibre of the team, the pedigree of its data quality software that is poised to dominate in capital markets and its unparalleled commitment to client delivery. In a market where regulatory forces are demanding clean data and both clients and vendors are moving to monetise clean raw sources of data, Datactics is leading the pack.” said Dale Richards, Datactics Board Member.
Steve Cowler, an investor in and advisor to Datactics since November 2012, will succeed Sarah Bearder as Chief Technology Officer. A seasoned data technology executive, Steve has over 25 years’ experience designing and delivering pioneering data technology solutions to the capital markets industry. Steve co-founded Harco Technology alongside Datactics Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Stuart Harvey, a data access and reporting technology firm which was initially purchased by Wombat and subsequently by NYSE. Steve also held senior technology roles with NYSE Technologies and Reuters.
Commenting on his appointment, Steve Cowler said, “I am delighted to join the team. We have been working on some innovative data quality projects in the areas of instrument mapping and updating reference data with LEIs and KYC, along with a number of initiatives to enhance the product further which really excites me.”
“Our clients and key stakeholders are increasingly looking to Datactics to develop data quality solutions in the pre-analytics area of profiling, re-engineering and matching reference data,” said Stuart Harvey, Datactics CEO. “Bringing Dale and Steve into the team shows our commitment to enhance our class-leading solution and means that we are better placed to serve our clients and opportunities in London and North America.”
