New Regulatory division built around three industry specialists with over 70 years of financial data experience.
London – 8th March 2017. CJC, the global, financial technology management solutions firm, today announced the formation of a new strategic division dedicated to assisting the banking community address the increasing regulatory challenges around managing and publishing market data.
A key focus area for the division is the control of outbound data. Currently, though most banks have robust market data management, processes and protocols in place, teams are generally only responsible for inbound consumption. There is a lack of clarity around who takes responsibility for outbound data; begging the question - is there any oversight of global contributed data?
Industry authority in this space, Sheena Clark, together with data specialists Wendy Cartledge and Judith Humby, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the division covering the securities lifecycle of data, from sourcing through to consumption, across all asset classes.
Sheena Clark commented: “Banks’ outbound, or contributed, data is not only affected by the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), since MiFID II, MiFIR and BCBS239 all impact pre-trade OTC data. Yet many don’t seem to have a clear picture of what prices they contribute, to whom and who can see or use it downstream. Our division can help banks and brokers take control of the prices they publish to the market through data vendors or submissions to benchmark rates.”
Paul Gow, CEO, CJC added: “The expertise of Sheena’s team, allied to our deep-seated technology knowledge of the contributed data space, established reputation for project delivery and global footprint present a real opportunity for us to help clients meet major regulatory challenges. We are already in extensive discussions with a number of tier 1 organisations and look forward to making announcements in the near term.”
