Celent, a Boston-based financial services research and consulting firm, has hired a new Analyst in the firm’s Insurance Group.

Luis Chipana joins Celent this week as an analyst, expanding Celent’s coverage of business and IT strategy trends and opportunities in Latin America.

Mr. Chipana’s career spans over 16 years working in banking and insurance companies. Prior to joining Celent, he was responsible for leading business and IT projects at Rimac Seguros in Peru, where he implemented workflows and business process management (BPM) across the enterprise. He brings practitioner experience from across the organization including risk, credit card, operations, claims, continuous improvement, business process management, and projects.

He’s a perfect match for developing our regional coverage.”

Mr. Chipana has a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal in Peru and is currently pursuing a MBA with specialization in finance from Bowling Green State University, Ohio. His background includes several IT, project management, and operational roles in Pacifico Seguros, MIBANCO, and Banco de Credito (BCP).

Luis joins the team n August 2013 and will work part-time alongside his MBA studies until the end of 2013, when he will join on a full-time basis.
