Banking Newsletter: February 2018
Greetings! It’s hard to believe that we’re already a month into the new year. This was my fifth January at Celent, long enough to figure out the rhythms of the seasons. December and January are Model Bank judging time, with February given over to writing case studies and beginning to travel. In March the travel begins in earnest, extending throughout the spring and culminating in Celent’s flagship event, Innovation & Insight Day. Summer’s a time for research and writing as conference season takes a break, and in the fall we hit the road again. No matter where our travels take us, 2018 is shaping up to be the most exciting year in banking technology yet, and we’ll be here to help you navigate the developments in artificial intelligence and RPA; PSD2 and open banking; and corporate customer experience and connected corporate banking.
We’ve concluded our judging for Model Bank, as Zil Bareisis lays out in his blog, Introducing Celent Model Bank 2018 Awards, it was our best year ever. With over 170 nominations, choosing winners was difficult. We’re notifying winners this week and are excited to begin the work on case studies showcasing some truly staggering innovations in the use of banking technology. We’ll make public announcements April 24 in Boston.
Many of you have participated in our panels on Digital and Branch. After a brief hiatus, we’re pleased to be revivifying these. We’ve already been in touch with past participants, and if you’d like to join, or know someone else who would, please drop me a note. The format is a ten-minute questionnaire on a focused topic, and in return, you receive the results of the research. All answers are, of course, are confidential. Finally, if you have topics you’d like us to explore, please let me or Bob Meara know.
If you’re in London or Atlanta and would like to join me, my colleagues, and your peers in a confidential roundtable discussion on AI, APIs, and their implications, please see the links below. We’ve held these in New York, San Francisco, and Toronto with fascinating results.
Finally, if you have yet to register for Innovation & Insight Day, scheduled for April 24 in Boston, please do so. Space is limited and filling up fast.
I hope to see you shortly, and, as always, don’t hesitate to reach out to your relationship manager if we can be of assistance.
