Insurance Newsletter: April 2018
With hours to go until Innovation & Insight Day this year, we’re at our maximum limit for attendees. All of this year’s Model Insurer winners have now been informed (and sworn to secrecy until the event), and the team is in the final stages of preparing interesting new research content. It’s shaping up to be an incredible day where you will be able to hear more about some of the world’s most innovative and complex projects underway across our industry.
To get more of a feeling about what the event is all about, Nicolas Michellod has provided a summary around what to expect in his latest blog, together with some interesting statistics around the number of entries submitted and from where in the world across the 29 countries involved.
In addition to the reports already produced and events held (such as our successful "A Walk in the Customer’s Shoes" in New York) so far this year, some of you may have noticed a new option on our website called Digital Services. These new services will be released over the next year and are designed to complement our existing research and advisory services with a series of simple and intuitive tools aimed at making sense of the increasingly complex and diverse technology landscape.
Our first digital service, VendorMatch, was launched a week ago in beta for a limited subset of capital markets while we settle the new tool in and work out what needs to be improved. Even though it’s not yet populated for insurance, I’d encourage you to go in and have a play with. We’re keen to get your feedback about what you like and what needs to be changed to make it better (just click here to let us know) prior to populating it for our industry
Furthermore, some of you may have spotted a fun new blog feature that our Marketing team have been working on to show the human side of Celent. Many of you will already know Karlyn Carnahan from her excellent work as an influential analyst across the insurance industry and also as head of P&C insurance in the Americas. However, perhaps not many of you also know that she has a passion for growing figs and 8lb. zucchinis, or for blowing huge bubble-gum bubbles? As we work our way through (Tom Scales is up next), I hope that you enjoy these brief insights into the brilliant characters behind our team.
Finally, I’m pleased to announce that we are partnered with the Digital Insurance Agenda due to be held in Amsterdam again this year and, as clients, you are able to secure a discount off of the ticket price using the code DIA2018CELENT200. This is their fourth conference and remains a great event both to see new innovations in insurance being demonstrated and to meet interesting people.
