  • It's indeed still early days, and the question that keeps coming is what is the real value these virtual advisors, or whatever name we give them, bring and to whom.

    If they "only" do the same job as traditional advisors but at a (substantial) lower cost, their disruption will be short lived.
    If they "only" replace experienced advisors with a piece of sophisticated software, they'll be quickly copied by smarter engineers somewhere in the world - who by the way will probably hardly work for a traditional advisory firm trying going virtual.

    But what if they mix engineering, finance and marketing know-hows and redefine what investing is, look more at their clients as "savers with a purpose" than as investors only preoccupied by the growth of their wealth ?

    This could then really disrupt the industry.
