ケリー・バーンズ
Kelley Byrnes, a Wealth Management Analyst, has focused her research on the application of cross-industry technology, like APIs, NLG, NLP, and predictive analytics, on wealth management. When she's not hanging out in Brooklyn Bridge Park with her husband and ten-month-old, you’ll likely find Kelley running or trying a new, local restaurant.
Where do you call home?
I'm a New Yorker. I grew up in Manhattan and currently live in Brooklyn.
Do you have a favorite place you’ve traveled?
Mount Kilimanjaro. The view from the top, above the clouds, was incredible. I am grateful to my husband for not letting me climb down when I was thirty minutes from the top.
Favorite Hobby?
Skiing
What was the last song you danced to?
Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake while trying to entertain my teething daughter.
Favorite Food/ Dish?
Au Cheval cheeseburger with egg.
How did you end up at Celent?
While at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) as part of the Global Wealth & Retirement Solutions (GWRS) group, I worked on implementing new advisor-facing technologies and processes. This prior experience prepared me for my current role at Celent where I research new technology in the wealth and asset management space.
What’s up next for your research?
I'm currently researching secure messaging technology and building upon my prior research on ESG investing and reporting technology.
What does being an analyst mean?
An analyst at Celent means providing objective insights on cutting-edge technology in finance.
What do you enjoy about your work?
I like meeting with fintechs to learn about the latest products and services they are building, and meeting with financial institutions to discover their most pressing pain points. By getting both perspectives, I can influence improved processes and products, by researching and providing recommendations on topics that are particularly relevant, e.g., APIfication, API monetization, NLG, NLP. I also like that from my seat I can introduce wealth management clients to technology companies, which has led to valuable relationships for both parties.
