Patricia Hines has over 20 years of experience in financial services across business, technology, and operations. When she's not busy helping clients decipher emerging technologies such as APIs, blockchain, and artificial intelligence, you'll find Patty down at the stables preparing to compete in hunter/jumper shows.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY / WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I grew up in a suburb of Schenectady, NY, part of the Upstate New York area known as the Capital District that includes the state capitol, Albany.
WHERE DO YOU CURRENTLY RESIDE?
For the past 15 years, I've lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, mostly working out of my home office.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CITY/PLACE YOU’VE TRAVELED?
I am incredibly fortunate to have a career that brings me to many exciting and diverse locations. My two favorite cities are Rio de Janeiro and Paris. Rio for its moderate climate, beautiful beaches, spectacular views, vibrant culture, and samba rhythms. Paris for its art museums, café culture, renowned wines, fine dining, and dramatic landmarks.
ANy Pets?
I have two home office colleagues who I work with daily, Roxy and Jasper, both Jack Russell terriers.
FAVORITE HOBBY?
I never grew out of my obsession with horses as a child, and started to ride and show horses in my late 20s. With the mild weather in the Southern US, I’m able to get out to the riding stable a few times a week, and enjoy hunter/jumper shows.
FAVORITE FOOD DISH?
One of my favorite things is trying new restaurants, whether white-table cloth fine dining or back-roads BBQ joints in North Carolina.
what's your story?
My first job in banking was as an operations associate, in a Citibank commercial lending office. A few years later, I decided to get an MBA, focusing on operations and production management, with a goal of re-engineering back-office banking. Since then, I’ve worked in a broad range of roles at commercial banks, software providers, and advisory research firms. The one constant has been a focus on commercial customers – whether small businesses or multi-national corporates.
TELL US ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO
I have a passion for understanding the disparate, inner workings of a situation – whether data, technology, socio-economic, financial, or people-related, and translating my findings into understandable concepts and recommendations for Celent’s clients.
