Craig Beattie, like many of the talented and gifted folks in insurance, arrived in the industry by accident, joining a startup looking to auction cars online and sell a bit of insurance on the side. When Craig is not busy providing his unique perspective to clients, you can find him learning a new Nintendo game and spending time with his family.

What do you enjoy about your work?
One of the great benefits of my job, is it gives my colleagues and I the chance to think about the big issues facing the industry, some of the solutions and to work out the direction things are going. It also allows me to talk to a lot of folks in the industry. I help people answer questions they have, discover questions they need answering but hadn’t asked yet and also help put people together too.
WHAT’S UP NEXT FOR YOUR RESEARCH?
There is a massive technology shift happening that is still in progress, doesn’t have a clear endgame, and is displacing the work force (moving them, not necessarily removing them). Navigating this change and spotting the changes in direction is going to be difficult, and where we offer a view.
