A roadmap to success
Creating compelling or engaging experiences is a tall order for insurers who for decades have sold products in purely utilitarian terms, are (historically) difficult to buy, and are not really a source of pride or joy once purchased. In short, almost no one really wants to buy insurance for a variety of reasons.
Through interviews, surveys, real-life cases, and as the result of working with insurers to help them shape their digital transformation agenda, we know leading‑class status is achieved by those who start with a focus on delivering value—and real value can mean differentiation based on something other than price. Many legacy incumbents are finding ways to cut the Gordian knot by providing value through adjunct and complementary services instead of just marching toward a price war.
At Celent we've developed a framework called "Digital Transformation FlyWheel" to assess the different digital capabilities supporting a series of possible strategic digital intents, with real-life cases supporting each of these components of the framework. By linking the strategy to the capabilities and the level of maturity in each organization, supported by cases that act as an example of behaviors and initiatives to benchmark, each organization can easily build a roadmap to a successful digital transformation.
As you think about (or in the journey of) becoming a leading-class digital insurer there are a few key questions to address:
- What does leading-class, end-to-end digital insurance look like today?
- How can Insurance companies improve their digital experiences and customer engagement?
- Is digital transformation precipitating a "race to the bottom” in insurance?

Celent Latinsites Summit Overview
The Summit starts on Sunday, April 23rd in the afternoon with a Catamaran networking event.
On April 24th, the day before the official opening of ITC LATAM, Celent will present a day of unique and exciting discussions. Celent will moderate a series of sessions that will provide optics into key areas of trending interest in today’s insurtech space with a focus on the growing Latin American market.
