INSURETECH CONNECT 2022: イノベーションに関する新たなインサイトを提供
InsureTech Connect 2022 is right around the corner and if it’s like prior years, you won’t be able to mistake the buzz of innovation and the sense of speed. This is the place to go to see new technologies and innovative business models. And it’s a great place to learn about what your peers are doing; meet extremely creative startups with transformative ideas; and talk to each other.
Insuretechs have in common a relentless focus on how their solution can be used to improve the insurance experience. Whether focused on improving decisions, transforming the customer experience, or creating new models, these startups are looking to reinvent the business.
If this year is like prior years, we’d expect to see new insights in a number of areas.
Customer Experience Is King
Many of the new challenges facing the insurance industry are related to two things: adapting to the rapidly changing technology landscape; and determining how to meet customer demands while delivering an excellent user experience. Whether it is P&C, life, or reinsurance, organizations are looking for a path to differentiate themselves, increase efficiency, and ensure long-term viability in a constantly evolving technology and business environment.
Partnerships, Not Disruption
Insurers are more likely to partner with the start-ups—helping to create the product; financing the organizations; and recognizing that traditional supply management practices can kill an insurtech. Insurtechs are less likely to state that they’re out to disrupt the industry and more likely to focus on ways of helping the insurers operate more effectively.
Continued Focus on Data and AI
Insurers are investing heavily to make better decisions in underwriting, claims, and marketing. There are many insurtechs that are providing AI in new ways; insurers are increasingly successful in their use of AI; and there are plenty of new sources of data and new data platforms.
Ecosystems Are Maturing
Insurers are moving to the creation of ecosystems of additional services embedded in their products—to improve both the customer experience and the financial results. This means APIs are table stakes … and microservices are exploding in availability. The role of IT is shifting to a focus on orchestrating data and processes across the application architecture. Insurtechs are focusing on making this easy.
It’s Not Just about B2C
Start-ups are moving beyond B2C distributors and focusing more on enabling incumbents to digitize and transform their business. Insurtech is enabling the insurance industry to experiment and to test which of the plethora of new models will stick.
It’s Not All for the Insurers
Agents and brokers are now looking for tools to transform themselves. Data is playing a new critical role in helping brokers manage customers, markets, and results. Will they end up as sellers of the data?
