Overview
IntelliPen is primarily an occupational group pensions system with a sophisticated database and data structures that deal with the complexities that occur in large schemes with multiple employers, pay-centres and payrolls. That said IntelliPen is built to scale down to offer all schemes the benefit of a professional pensions administration system.
One of the key features of IntelliPen is the ability of end-users to implement any type of change to the system, reducing reliance on external resources and expensive IT staff. It is the highly configurable and the flexible nature of IntelliPen that allows Procentia to implement systems that exactly fit each client’s individual requirements, regardless of how demanding those requirements are, while maintaining a single core system that is in global use.
IntelliPen is a family of products (listed below) that are included in the IntelliPen license fee. The IntelliPen modules are:
Web Content Management SystemIntelliSite is a thin-client browser-based system built on Windows Server, IIS and SQL Server and includes integrated self-service websites. All functionality is available through a web interface providing simple deployment options and enabling flexible staffing models.
Automated WorkflowIntelliCase is supplied with a standard suite of common pensions administration workflow processes that can be customised to exactly fit a client’s requirements. IntelliPen can either be driven through IntelliCase or can integrate with any corporate enterprise wide workflow or case management such as MS Dynamics or Pega.
Pensions CalculatorIntelliCalcs calculation engine has rich functionality that can be set up through a simple spreadsheet type of interface that enables complex calculations to be created and documented by proficient end users rather than software technicians. Full source control and versioning of calculations is built into IntelliCalcs, as well as a comprehensive IDE that supports debugging, tracing and code analysis.
Integrated PayrollIntelliPay is a fully integrated module that provides complete pensioner payroll functionality including generation of BACS files, payslip reports and full payroll balancing reports. IntelliPay will summarise a customer’s payments at wrapper level and account for taxed and tax-free payments in the RTI interface.
Document ScanningIntelliScan links IntelliPen to scanning hardware to automate workflow triggering and images of incoming documents to be stored alongside a record of all documents produced by the system in IntelliPen’s document management system (DMS). Processes can be triggered by IntelliScan reading QR or barcodes that will then run through to completion without the need for any further manual administration effort.
Automated Interface ManagementIntelliFeed data import facility uses definition files to import fixed format files, CSV and XML files into holding tables, from where they can be edited, validated using defined rules and processed into the main databases. This has been used for interfaces from SAP, Peoplesoft, and other HR and payroll products as well as migrations from legacy pension systems. Bulk interfaces can also trigger workflows for further processing of imported data.
Pensions AccountingIntelliCount (separately licensed) Is a fully featured pensions and cashbook accounting system. IntelliCount includes full trial balance, nominal ledger, transaction analysis, journals and accruals. All nominal ledger accounts can be created and amended within IntelliCount. IntelliCount has the capability to produce SORP and other accounting reports.
In addition to these modules IntelliPen includes utilities such as a sophisticated security model that meets the stringent UK & EU GDPR measures, a batch scheduler to enhance automation and reporting tools that allows end users to create and run reports and extract files.
