Hamburg, 14.-15. Mai 2019 – There was an intense two-day exchange of the zeb.control users in the new TABULARAZA in the zeb.office above Hamburg’s roofs with the Elbphilharmonie and the Binnenalster in sight. In agile workshops and at fascinating presentations including live demonstrations users discussed topics like cloud, digitalization and different operating models with responsible zeb employees. An additional focus of the agenda was the redevelopment of the treasury solution as well as the presentation of the further developed product platform zeb.control which is first used for the news ALM solution.
The technical program was completed by an evening event in a relaxed environment. On board of the ship “Cap San Diego”, participants could face the challenges of an escape game and immerse in different worlds. A barbeque followed taking advantage of the perfect weather and the intense exchange of participants and zeb employees was continued.
The program of the two days consisted of presentations of new developments within the different modules as well as further technical presentation regarding the current topics interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and risk-bearing capacity calculation. Moreover, the focus topic ALM was found on the agenda:
The central simulation module is developed completely new and thereby the further developed product platform of zeb.control is also used. With the ALM redevelopment there are completely new possibilities regarding interest rate risk management with zeb.control. The central components of the redevelopment are the continuance of functional and technical integration as well as a central simulation engine. To improve the user experience a completely new user-frontend is created among others. Moreover, the software supports the different operating models on-premise, cloud and Software as a Service (SaaS). In order to optimize the development procedure, an agile experience and usability of the individual development steps is planned. The software is developed in close exchange with pilot customers who constantly get insights in the development status as well as evaluate those regarding practicability and who give impulses for the further development. This interactive procedure with a very early practical testing and the “challenging” through experienced users ensures an optimal alignment with the customer’s requirements.
The possibilities and chances of cloud services as a platform for control solutions were discussed animatedly. First experiences with cloud services are overly positive and are considered as substantial setting of the direction. Cloud services enable flexibility and significant performance improvements while reducing costs at the same time since resources are only used for e.g. computing-intensive simulations. Thus, there are new and more interactive ways of working within the bank control.
We are very happy about the intense exchange with you and are already excited for the next User Days!
