Above Average: Unlocking the Full Potential of the Small Business Market
When: May 4, 2023 at 1pm EDT
The small business market presents a massive opportunity for financial institutions (FIs)— but many are not taking full advantage of this opportunity. According to recent research by Celent, the US small business market is comprised of almost 33 million businesses, generating approximately $115 billion in financial services revenues (banks and non-banks).
For loans below $250,000, outstandings total $295 billion, while originations total an estimated $176 billion. Even so, small businesses are often underserved in the United States. There’s still a gap between what small business owners expect in terms of products and customer service and what the average financial institution can offer them.
Join Alenka Grealish, Principal Analyst at Celent, Anni Mollett, Head of Centralized Commercial Credit Management at TD Bank, and Garrett Adams, General Manager of Small Business Banking at nCino, as they discuss the key factors that make small business big business, the existing obstacles, and advice on how to overcome these challenges, both for bankers and the small business owners they serve.
Participants Will Learn:
- The current state of the small business market
- The technological shifts that make small business banking profitable
- What it takes for FIs to excel in small business banking and rise to the top of the competition
