Stand-Alone Insurance Portal Solutions
An Overview of Vendor Offerings
Abstract
Portal technology began with the mission of making life easier for insurance producers. For a number of years, solutions in the space were referred to as agency portals. Companies invested in them to reduce the friction inherent in the initial stages of the insurance sales process.
Many portal offerings have expanded their scope to serve a wide range of stakeholders, from prospects to policyholders to distributors. Data exchange and translation continue to be core capabilities, but some offerings also include work management and collaboration tools which allow insurers to front-end multiple legacy systems with a single platform. The report, Stand-Alone Insurance Portal Solutions, profiles 20 vendor solutions that claim to address these challenges.
“Meeting and/or exceeding the expectations of users, no matter where they lie on the value chain, is now the goal of many solutions,” says Mike Fitzgerald, Senior Analyst with Celent’s Insurance Group and author of the report.”
This report provides a detailed snapshot of the various vendors in this space. It will be useful to familiarize staff on the range of functions available, and to build a short list of suppliers during vendor selections.
