Abstract

Celent has released a new report titled European Wealth Management Technology Vendors: Evaluating Front-to-Back Office Platform Vendors. The report was written by Ashley Globerman, an analyst in Celent’s Wealth Management practice.

Wealth managers continue to face a challenging environment due to tighter regulations, political and market volatility, an evolving client base, and digital innovation. As such, wealth managers and software vendors are investing more in their platforms to provide a comprehensive and fully integrated end-to-end solution. Platform enhancements are aimed to automate certain processes of the advisory process, reduce costs, manage risk, and serve clients more efficiently and uniquely.

This report, the second of three, examines the leading European vendors of front-to-back office platforms. The following vendors are included:

  • SS&C Technologies
  • Bravura
  • Comarch
  • Dorsum
  • GBST
  • Intellect Design
  • JHC
  • Objectway
  • Profile Software
  • SEI
  • Temenos
  • Vermeg

“Across the board, vendors are offering scalable, single technical infrastructure solutions that enable workflow automation, transparency, global reach, and a client-centric experience,” says Globerman.

Front-to-back office vendors provide a true front-to-back office platform and provide a single infrastructure for the wealth manager. These vendors frequently have become front-to-back providers via acquisition. As such, integrating their various components is a priority. These platforms have an open architecture so that wealth managers can integrate legacy and other third party systems on top of the platform. Like the front office systems, these systems are modular, with the ability to implement only the front office, or only the middle and back office, or only specific components across the front, middle, and back office.

This report uses the Celent ABCD Vendor View, which shows at a glance the relative position of vendors in the following categories: Advanced Technology, Breadth of Functionality, Customer Base (number of clients), and Depth of Client Services on two separate X/Y scales.
