Abstract

Celent profiles 34 policy administration systems vendors in Europe, with 16 full profiles and 18 limited profiles.

In a new report, Policy Administration Systems for General Insurers in Europe 2009, Celent looks at policy administration systems available to general insurers in Europe. Since the first report in 2005 and the second in 2007, activity level has remained high among both insurers and policy administration system vendors. In the two years from January 2007 to January 2009, over 70 insurers had licensed a new policy administration system.

This report uses Celent’s ABCD vendor view, which is a standard representation of a vendor marketplace designed to show at a glance the relative positions of each vendor in four categories: Advanced technology, Breadth of functionality, Customer base, and Depth of client services.

"Several vendors have made significant investment in their solutions since we last reviewed the market in 2007," says Catherine Stagg-Macey, senior analyst with Celent's Insurance group and author of the report. "On the buy side, over 25 insurers were in implementation at the end of last year. Packaged solutions remain an important option for insurers looking to support core business processes."
