Abstract

The European wealth management industry continues to evolve in the face of tighter regulations, political and market volatility, a shifting client base, and digital disruption.

Vendors continue to automate parts of the advisory process across the value chain while enabling wealth managers to reduce cost, manage risk, and segment clients more efficiently.

Celent has published a new report titled European Wealth Management Technology Vendors: Evaluating Core Banking Platform Vendors. The report was written by Ashley Globerman, an Analyst in Celent’s Securities & Investments practice.

This report, the final in a set of three, examines the leading European vendors of core banking platforms. The following vendors are included: Avaloq, ERI Bancaire, Sopra, and Temenos. Infosys, Oracle, and SunGard/FIS did not participate in the study.

“Some of the platform enhancements that Celent expects to see are in the areas of data analytics, CRM, cybersecurity, financial planning, multichannel user experiences, regulatory compliance, and self-directed capabilities,” says Globerman.

Core banking vendors focus on providing core banking functionality for the private banking and retail banking industries. These solutions provide the infrastructure to support wealth management operations and processes across the front, middle, and back offices.

This study uses the Celent ABCD Vendor View, which shows at a glance the relative position of vendors in the following categories: Advanced Technology, Breadth of Functionality, Customer Base (number of clients), and Depth of Client Services on two separate X/Y scales.

The other two reports in this series are:
